Hellooooo 3rd Trimester!

Our family on Easter before Church! Thank goodness for self-timers on camera's. I don't know what I would do without it! We never seem to get many family pictures and I wanted to make sure to get one with the baby belly. We had a great Easter with some of our family friends over and had a great lunch and then went to church in the evening. Not very eventful as far as activities, but a fun day with family. I was trying to explain to Max about Easter and what the real meaning is, but explaining that to a 2 yr. old is a little challenging. I just want him to know its not all about Easter eggs, candy and the Easter bunny! Over the years I'm sure he will come to a fuller understanding of it. Its nice to be able to tell him about it because it also reminds me of the importance of the day too!
Don't love my face in this picture, but hey...it’s all about the belly anyways! I have made it to the final trimester of my second pregnancy and I can't believe how FAST it has gone by! I love feeling him move inside and can't wait to see what he looks like and am shocked that in 13 weeks I will be saying goodbye to possibly my last pregnancy and HELLO to our new little boy, Cole Loren!

Many mixed emotions. I love being pregnant as you have probably read in other posts, but I am sure looking forward to having my mind back. I'm hoping it has just been pregnancy brain because if it's not...I'm really scared. That part has been very humbling for me because my mind has been so forgetful and it's just not as quick as it usually is. I can't really explain it that well, but if you know what I'm talking about...you understand. It really has been a frustration for me.

I am waiting for the closet doors to be put up in Max's new room and then I will post pictures of the rooms. They are so cute and I really love being in both rooms. Sometimes I just sit in there and enjoy the simplicity of it all. It’s funny how rooms can draw you in.

*Oh and on another note I am so happy to hear that my In-Laws, Doug and Suzy (Loren's parents) have started reading our blog. Blogging is such a great way to let others know whats going on in our family. We don't get to see Doug and Suzy near enough, but love them and really enjoy the time we do get to spend with them. Suzy has been emailing me idea's for the new baby boy (before Cole was decided) and it has been so funny because most of them, actually all of them have been one's that I have loved...thanks Suzy! Great mind think alike! I'm excited for them to see their grandson's and hear all they are up to! Blogging Rocks!

Thanks for the comment. As soon as I have a room to decorate I would love to post pictures! Unfortunately my MIL is in that room at the moment, so we are going to have to do the last minute scramble. :) But her room is going to be done is lady bugs. I can't wait to see the boy's rooms!

Ohh... how stinkin cute are you! Love the belly shots, I think pregnant women look so beautiful, especially you :-) No third baby?? I don't know why, but I totally see you with 3 kids... you're such a great mother! And since you're so girly... I totally see you having a girl last so she'll be a little princess :-) Can't wait to see pictures of the boys' rooms. I bet they're adorable!

Oh, and I thought I'd pass this Easter Cookie Recipe on to you... it's a great way to teach young kids the true meaning of Easter. Maybe you can write it down and try it out next year! Hope you like it.

Easter Story Cookies:
This is a great recipe to make the night before Easter and discuss the Easter story with your children.
Ingredients:

* 1 C whole pecans
* 1C sugar
* tape
* zipper baggie
* 1 tsp vinegar
* wooden spoon
* Bible
* 3 egg whites
* pinch of salt

Preheat oven to 300 degrees (this is important, don't wait till you're half done with the recipe!)

Place pecans in zipper-baggie and let children beat with the wooden spoon to break into small pieces. Explain that after Jesus was arrested, He was beaten by the Roman soldiers. Read John 19:1-3.

Let each child smell the vinegar. Put 1 tsp vinegar into mixing bowl. Explain that when Jesus was thirsty on the cross, He was given vinegar to drink. Read John 19:28-30.

Add egg whites to vinegar. Eggs represent life. Explain that Jesus gave His life to give us life. Read John 10:10-11

Sprinkle a little salt into each child's hand. Let them taste it and brush the rest into the bowl. Explain that this represents the salty tears shed by Jesus' followers, and the bitterness of our own sin. Read Luke 23:27.

So far the ingredients are not very appetizing. Add 1 c sugar. Explain that the sweetest part of the story is that Jesus died because He loves us. He wants us to know and belong to Him. Read Psalm 34:8 and John 3:16.

Beat with a mixer on high speed for 12 to 15 minutes until stiff peaks are formed. Explain that the color white represents the purity in God's eyes of those whose sins have been cleansed by Jesus. Read Isaiah 1:18 and John 3:1-3.

Fold in the broken nuts. Drop by teaspoons onto wax paper covered cookie sheet. Explain that each mound represents the rocky tomb where Jesus' body was laid. Read Matthew 27:57-60. Put the cookie sheet in the oven and turn the oven OFF.

Give each child a piece of tape and seal the oven door. Explain that Jesus' tomb was sealed. Read Matthew 27:65-66.

GO TO BED! Explain that they may feel sad to leave the cookies in the oven overnight. Jesus' followers were in despair when the tomb was sealed. Read John 16:20 and 22.

On Easter morning, open the oven and give everyone a cookie. Notice the cracked surface and take a bite. The cookies are hollow! On the first Easter, Jesus' followers were amazed to find the tomb open and empty. Read Matthew 28:1-9
